Laura Lea Cross was born in Benton, AR on October 22, 1956. She met her Husband Randy at the Salem Dairy Diner during her senior year in high school. She was an employee at the diner and Randy was a regular customer. Laura and Randy were married on July 28, 1978 and they have a daughter, Amanda, age 25 and a son, Leigh, age 22.

Laura sang in the Bryant High School Choir as a student and has been a member of the Salem UMC Sanctuary Choir since she was twelve years old. She graduated from Henderson State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science and Education Degree with a Major in Mathematics and a Minor in General Science. She has taught Mathematics at Bryant High School form 1978 to present. The casual observer might conclude after hearing her beautiful singing voice and skills on the piano that Laura has also received a formal education in Music as well, however she has not.

Laura has sung with the Country Bands "Blue Ribbon Band" and "High Gear", as well as the Christian Contemporary Bands "Master's Plan" and "Threefold" since the age of 22.  She is currently involved in the Salem UMC Praise Team, "Carols of the Cross" and "Laura Lea and the Riff Raff Boys" band.

Her main hobby, not surprisingly, is music. She regards her Musical Leadership and performances at Salem UMC as "fun", not work.
